I specialize in custom ceremonies. A custom Ceremony strives to reflect the two of you, the values you share and your hopes for the future. This includes incorporating inter-cultural traditions. I also do same-sex ceremonies. I am also on-call for planning help.
I am available for life celebrations including weddings and funerals. I am on the board of the Humanist Society and I am President of the Military Association of Atheists and Freethinkers. More information about speaking engagements available at my website above.
I trained as a celebrant with the humanist chaplain of Stanford University as well as the AHA Center for Education. My chaplaincy clinical training was at Beaumont Hospital in Michigan and I am completing a Master of Divinity program at Meadville Lombard Theological School. I have officiated many ceremonies in Los Angeles, Savannah, and Detroit and am a WeddingWire Preferred Vendor. I am on the Board of Directors of the Humanist Society, and a contributing writer to humanist and other publications.
Hi. My name is Max and I became a Humanist celebrant in 2018. I am an attorney and live in Brooklyn. I’m a dog person, blue belt in Brazilian jujitsu and do the Polar Bear plunge in the icy waters of Coney Island every January 1.
