Andrew J. Vaughn was endorsed by The Humanist Society as a Humanist Celebrant in 2015. His goal is to celebrate the human experience in his work as a celebrant. He provides services primarily in the Cedar Rapids and Iowa City area, but is willing to travel throughout Iowa and beyond.
I became a celebrant, counselor, and university chaplain because I love helping people make the most of life’s biggest moments. I’m a warm, friendly community builder with loads of onstage experience, so this work comes naturally to me. I spent three decades as a Christian minister before slowly losing my faith, but unless we’re talking about spirituality, even my closest friends can’t really tell the difference. I always believed in the transformative power of love, and I still do.
I specialize in custom ceremonies. A custom Ceremony strives to reflect the two of you, the values you share and your hopes for the future. This includes incorporating inter-cultural traditions. I also do same-sex ceremonies. I am also on-call for planning help.
